Itinerary

Day 1CUSCO – CALCA – LARES – WACAHUASI

Very early (5:00 am) we will pick you up from your accommodation in a private van or bus, then travel through the Sacred Valley and after a couple of hours arrive in the town of Lares, especially at the medicinal thermo-mining baths of this locality.

We will spend the morning in this place, after lunch the walk begins, for a time of 2 hours 30 minutes until we reach the town of Wacahuasi, which is the place of our first camp.

In this town we will share moments with the people of the place and we will taste the delicious dinner that will recharge us

Overnight in Carp

Day 2WAKAWASI – IPSAYCOCHA

After an energizing breakfast, we will see the techniques that the inhabitants of Wakawasi use for the production of different Andean textiles such as ponchos, mantles, chullos, etc.

After four hours of walking we will have a well-deserved rest to have lunch and enjoy a spectacular view of the snow-capped mountains that surround the Sacred Valley such as Wacaywillka or Verónica (5750 masl), after lunch we will continue walking until we reach the Ipsaycocha pass (4200 masl ) and from there a descent of approximately 1 hour 30 minutes until Ipsaycocha lagoon, where we will have dinner and have our second camp and then we will enjoy dinner.

Overnight in Carp

Day 3IPSAYCOCHA – PATACANCHA – OLLANTAYTAMBO – MACHUPICCHU TOWN

After breakfast, we start the trek on this day, which is all downhill, where we will appreciate an impressive landscape and also see many herds of alpacas and llamas that graze around the lagoon. Then we arrive at the town of Patacancha where the private bus is located to move to Pumamarka and enjoy some beautiful Inca terraces.

Lunch in Ollantaytambo (Chuncho Restaurant), and then take the train to Machupicchu town where we will have dinner and overnight.

Dinner and accommodation at Casa Andina Standard hotel.

Day 4MACHUPICCHU TOWN – MACHUPICCHU – CUSCO

05:30 hrs. Transfer to the station in Machupicchu town, to take the tourist bus that goes to the sacred citadel of Machu Picchu. This short bus ride lasts only 20 minutes and runs along a very steep and zigzagging unpaved track through a jungle-like mountain with breathtaking views.

Finally we arrive at the Sanctuary of Machupicchu, where our local guide will take us on a tour of the most important sectors of this beautiful Inca citadel, visiting the most relevant parts. Around 13:00 hrs, we will be taking the return bus that will take us to Machupicchu Pueblo.

14:00 Lunch at Machupicchu Pueblo (Restaurant “El Indio Feliz”) and at 16:00 approx. Transfer by Expedition train to Ollantaytambo where we will be waiting for you by our private transport to take you to your hotel in Cusco.

We will arrive in Cusco at approximately 20:00 p.m.
