PEROLNIYOC
Perolniyoc is one of the most spectacular places in the Cusco region. This place perfectly combines the natural beauty of a waterfall and the majesty of the archaeological site that is located on it. It is located in the community of Socma, district of Ollantaytambo and province of Urubamba, about 80 km. northeast of the city of Cusco.
Perolniyoc is the name that the local people gave to the waterfall, and from where the archaeological site also takes its name.
The waterfall has a drop of approximately 100 meters. The current of water that forms is shallow. We can appreciate lush vegetation formed by the spray of water at the base of the waterfall.
INTI PUNKU CACCHICATA
Sun Gate (Quechua: ” Inti Punku “) is located 64 km north of Cusco, in Peru. It is located at an altitude of 3,886 m.a.s.l. above the town of Cacchicata, in the district of Ollantaytambo, province of Urubamba, in the Sacred Valley of the Incas.
From the Cacchicata quarries the Incas managed to cut and transport the megalithic rocks that made up their cities, today sources of incredible stories.
We will also observe the «Chullpas», or small tomb constructions that were built for the purpose of housing mummies, considered guardian spirits for the people who live and work in the area.
We depart from the city of Cusco (7:00 a.m.) in our private transport to the sacred valley by way of Cusco – Huarocondo to arrive at 8:30 a.m. to our first destination: The ceremonial center known as ÑAUPA IGLESIA CHOQELLA (the old temple where gold shines). Here we will taste a rich breakfast.
Then at 10:00 a.m. We will continue with our private transportation to the Socma community where we will begin our walk. On our tour we will visit a beautiful waterfall of 100 meters at the foot of the Perolniyoc complex. During the ascent we will be able to observe an incredible view seeing the Chicón snow-capped mountain, part of the Maras plateau and the sacred valley. Following our route we will arrive at 12:20 p.m. to the archaeological complex of Perolniyoc where our guide will explain the importance of this place.
At 1:00 p.m. We will continue walking to reach the Sanca community at 2:30 p.m. and regain strength with a delicious lunch. Here we will camp and at night we will have a dinner enjoying the night sky, the stars and depending on the date of the Moon.
Overnight in camp.
At 6:00 am. We started the day with the first rays of the sun and with a delicious breakfast enjoying the natural landscape from the community of Sanca. Then at (7:00 a.m.) we will start our walk to Inti Punku de Cacchicata.
At 11:00 am. We will be arriving at Inti Punku from where we can enjoy peace and incredible views of the snow-capped mountains in the area and the Ollantaytambo valley.
At noon we will begin the descent to visit the cacchicata quarries and then arrive at our accommodation.
During our stay we will have lunch and dinner surrounded by magnificent views of the Apu Wakaywilque also known as the Apu Verónica.
We will spend the night in our rural lodging in Cacchicata.
We start the day with breakfast (08:00 a.m.) and at 10:00 a.m. We will leave in our private transport to Ollantaytambo, where we will visit the archaeological complex and take a walk through the town for later at 1:00 p.m. Taste a buffet lunch in the now classic Chuncho tourist restaurant.
At 15:00 we will begin our return to the city of Cusco.
Estimated time of arrival at the hotel in Cusco: 17:00 p.m.
We will spend the night in our rural lodging in Cacchicata.
